In Iran, many types of dates are cultivated and exploited. In general, in the world, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and Iran have the highest date cultivation. In Iran, many of these dates are part of the country’s exports to other parts of the world. In this article, we intend to introduce the types of Iranian dates and the place of cultivation and exploitation.

  1. Piarom date:

Piarom dates are one of the commercial and first-class dates that are considered as a special variety of export dates due to their good quality and high marketability.

So far, Piarom dates have been able to attract the attention of global markets. This date has the most customers among export dates, and the price of Piarom dates is higher than other dates.

This date is widely cultivated in Hajiabad city of Hormozgan province in the south of Iran. This date is also the best in the world and Iran.

The thin skin of Piaram dates is dark brown, and because the flesh and skin of the date are completely attached, it has given a beautiful and desirable appearance to this type of date.

Because most of the sugar in it is fructose, it is easily and quickly used in the body’s metabolism, and those who have consumed this date once, due to its delicious taste and desirable appearance, and other nutritional properties, are usually regular consumers. These are dates.

  1. Mazafati date:

Mazafati Date is one of the best types of dates in Iran, which has more than half of Iran’s date production. Mazafati cultivar has a higher moisture content than other types of dates, which has led to its unique taste.

Rotab Mazafati is produced in areas such as Kerman and Sistan-Baluchestan provinces, and these areas have a major share in the country’s date production. The cities of Bam, Saravan, Barvat, and Jiroft are among the most important centers of Mazafati date production.

Another type of date that is grown in Iran is Kabkab dates. This date is widely cultivated and exploited in the Dashtestan region of Bushehr province. Also, cultivation of this date is common in the Kazerun region in Fars province. Kabkab dates are the best type of dates for direct consumption and industrial use in the food industry.

Bushehr Kabkab dates are in fantastic condition in terms of export and have been able to gain a good position in the Russian markets of India and Pakistan. Kabkab dates have a large size and have a soft and sweet texture, and their moisture content is about 18%. Its good taste and light brown color along with other properties of this date have made it able to have an effective share in the export of Iranian dates.

Sayer dates are cultivated in the groves of Khuzestan province. It is also a unique product in terms of nutritional value and sugar. Dates from other Khuzestan have a light brown color and have a moisture content of 18%. This date is a type of semi-dry date with a suitable and unique taste and medium size.

Sayer dates have antioxidants and are anti-cancer. The magnesium in this date makes it suitable for people with digestive disorders. It is also high in iron and is useful for people suffering from anemia.

Zahedi dates are cultivated in Bushehr and Fars provinces. This date is a type of semi-dry date, and its color is yellowish-brown. It is high in sugar and is exported to the Middle East, India, and Pakistan.

It is one of the semi-dry date cultivars of Iran. It is dark brown in color and has a slender core. Rabbi dates are mostly grown in Sistan and Baluchestan province and their fruits are relatively large and red.

Rabbi dates are rich in nutrients and are useful in digestion and preventing cancer. It is also effective in strengthening bones and lowering blood sugar. These dates are rich in calcium, potassium, lactose and fructose and also have many vitamins.
