Indigenous to the Middle East, dates are sweet fruits from the Phoenix dactylifera tree, commonly known as the palm date tree. Because of their nutritional value, dates are considered a staple food in the region. They contain different types of antioxidants, which help the body prevent certain illnesses, such as heart disease and cancer. They\u2019re also rich in fiber, which helps the digestive system and prevents certain colon diseases. There are several types of dates cultivated around the world, one of which is the Piarom date. Also known as the \u201cchocolate date\u201d, Piarom is perhaps the most delicious and luxurious variety of dates. That\u2019s perhaps due to its higher amount of nutrients and sweeter taste compared to other kinds of dates.<\/p>\n

Piarom dates are exclusively cultivated in Iran. They have a unique sweet taste<\/strong> and natural aroma<\/strong>. Their thin, wrinkled skin<\/strong> that fully clings<\/strong> to the meaty flesh<\/strong> and their dark brown<\/strong> color makes them recognizable from other types of dates. With less than 15% moisture, Piarom dates fall under the semi-dry category.<\/p>\n
